You’ve had your treatment — fifteen minutes, a few tiny pinches, done. Now what? Proper post-Botox care is simple, but the first 24 hours genuinely matter for how evenly your results settle. Here’s the exact aftercare guidance we give every client at our Scarborough clinic.
The first 4–6 hours: the rules that matter
- Stay upright. Don’t lie flat, nap face-down, or do inverted yoga poses. Gravity is your friend while the product settles into the targeted muscle.
- Skip strenuous exercise. Raising your heart rate and blood flow can diffuse product away from where it was precisely placed. Walk, don’t HIIT.
- Avoid heavy heat. Saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga wait until tomorrow.
- Don’t rub or massage the area. Cleansing is fine — pressing, facials and face-down massage are not, for 24 hours.
The first 24 hours: gentle is enough
Makeup is fine after a few hours if applied lightly. Small pinpoint bumps or a little redness at injection sites are normal and usually gone within the hour; a minor bruise, if you get one, covers easily and fades in days. Alcohol is best skipped the first evening — it slightly increases bruising risk.
When will you see results?
Wrinkle relaxers begin working in 3–5 days, with full results settled by 2 weeks. That two-week mark matters: it’s when we assess whether your dose was exactly right. If anything feels uneven at day 14, that’s a normal follow-up conversation — not a crisis.
Making results last
Results typically hold 3–4 months as muscle movement gradually returns. Clients who maintain on a regular schedule often find lines soften long-term, because the muscle spends less time creasing the skin. Daily SPF protects the skin quality around your results — relaxing the muscle doesn’t stop sun damage.
